I just purchased a new Samsung SyncMaster906bw I have it mounted on my wall, it is beautiful and I love it. All of a sudden it is acting wierd. On my blacks and it seems to only happen when it is a large amount like a background or a webpage. You can see the lines going through it. Changing the deepness of the black. It is just frustrating, I am sure I will figure out what is wrong eventually but if anyone know anything please HELP.... THANKS.

Sounds like it could be a defective LCD... try it on another system and if the problem persists, return it for a new one.

It could be my graphics card in the computer, don't laugh, its a pci ati radeon 9250. It is also hooked up through VGA and not DVI I am going to get a DVI cable and test it on a different computer.

Also I cannot change the refresh rate from 60 hertz, I do not know if a higher or lower one would make a difference?
In general LCDs have a fixed refresh rate (native refresh rate) and can't be changed...60Hz sounds about right for it.
Does the monitor have a native VGA port or are you using an adapter?
If you are using an adapter, try switching that out...

I've come to the conclusion that it is the video card. I tried it on my brothers 8800gts and it looked great under DVI. Then just to make sure I tried it one my other brothers 7950gt with a VGA cable. It also looked great, so my conclusion is that it is time to stop putting off the not upgrading and finally build myself a computer. The funny thing is I built my two brothers computers and over clocked them made them good stable machines without having a nice computer myself. THX for all the help.
