View Full Version : Remote Assistance available with Vista?

Do Vista Basic and Vista Premium have the Remote Assistance facility, or similar, which is present in XP Home Edition?

If so, is it possible for an XP Home Edition machine to connect to a Vista Basic or Vista Premium machine for purposes of "remote assistance"?

Apparently the answer to each of my questions is: Yes.

Thanks for confirming that. Pity that vista didn't just simply takeover where xp left off since its remote worked very well. The XP/Vista incompatibilities that do now exist are just typical of the way MS works - presumably to avoid backward compatibility and to try to force everyone to upgrade. Yeah, yeah - they say that the new remote works better under low bandwidth conditions but even the old netmeeting worked just fine under Win98 on dial-up - so I don't get that one.
