Hello,

I have an Acer Laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium.
I downloaded the new version of Windows Live Messenger, but everytime I try to open the program (DEP) Data Execution Prevention shuts it down.

I also tried disabling it but I was denied.
I am frustrated now because I have tried just about everything.....unsuccessfully.

Any help to solve this annoying problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Kindest regards,

karlev

Vista Tip: Turn off Data Execution Prevention (http://vista.beyondthemanual.com/2006/11/vista_tip_turn_off_data_execut.html)

It's up to you - unless that is how you tried to disable it.

It may of course be a "bad marriage (http://blogs.zdnet.com/microsoft/?p=103)" since Vista is not honeymooning all that well in many quarters. New MS products are seldom nubile for some time after their release.
