Hey,

To make a very long story short, I'm trying to get into safe mode on my Windows XP PC. After rapidly hitting F8 I'm able to get to the safe mode selection screen -- but the keyboard then stops working. SO instead of up-arrowing to "Safe mode," it stays highlighted on "Start Windows normally." Then, once the 30 seconds is up, Windows boots normally -- and the keyboard then works!

Any suggestions? I do have a media keyboard, but I'm not sure if that should make a difference?

Zack

PS/2 or USB or wireless (and if so, how---infrared, USB, Bluetooth, etc?)

Are there specific drivers being loaded for your 'media' keyboard?

What brand is it?

It's a USB ViewSonic keyboard. I actually just fixed my problem by getting a USB to PS/2 converter, and I was able to get it to work. Thanks though!

FYI For anyone who has this problem, just get a PS/2 converter.

If the USB keyboard isn't working in SafeMode, then probably no other USB devices would work either...

What version of Windows? (specific--XP Home or Pro or Media Center, etc.)

Are your motherboard drivers properly installed?
