It is very annoying and waste of energy that when the
New Topic Board reappears saying "incorrect password",
the msg is deleted.

THIS IS VERY ANNOYING AND TIME WASTING ......who the hell
then wants to rephrase the point he/she had in mind.

Suggest, LIKE ALL OTHER FORUMS, your msg board should
retain the msg when it reappear to point out the descripancy
in the password.

Sorry about the inconvenience. There's really nothing I can do about this, as it is a combination of how the code works, and also how browsers interpret the "back" button. At least once the password is properly entered, the cookie will prevent that in the future.

IXL - you're down as a "code hackin' fool" and you can't code to sort this?? ow! FWIW - it is very annoying that you don't get a second bite at the cherry - esp. if you've ddone some long beautifully informative missive only to be eaten 'cos of the "code".

Charles,

How about either a master sign-in page or a pop-up window saying that you password is incorrect?

I've seen the pop-up on a lot of shopping sites so it may be easier or even necessary on a secure page. I've seenthe master sign in on other boards. I know it might be a little inconvenient but it may be worth it.

Also since you can 'cut and paste' I've taken to typing my long dissertations in notepad then pasting them into the post (or sometimes the other way around). Doing that also gives me a recod of what i wrote without having to search out the post, I only save them for a few days (until the post isn't really current anymore).

I should really change my tag line, since I haven't hacked any code in quite a while. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif Too busy doing other things.
The issue here is really the interaction between the browser and the UBB code. I can't really change it because it doesn't affect everyone equally.
The code already uses Javascript and cookies to automatically fill in your userid and password once you type them in once; isn't this working for most people?
