i need to be detected as removable disk .

it should be detected as pen drive.
i tried a lot but i could not make it detect as removable is ie) like pendrive..
ple giv me any solution...
cheers,

This is not really a solution for that, but you could buy the IDE to USB adapter on ebay. It will allow you to connect sata, ide, and laptop hds directly to your usb port, and allow them to be powered externally as well. I've found this tool to be helpful for many many things.

from what it sounds like your doing, cros hit the nail on the head there... Your connecting it via IDE, the IDE standard IS NOT for removeable storage, as such the system needs to be turned off to unplug/plug it back in

Please notice 2 things in the snapshot image below of part of my Device Manager display of devices in "View->By Connection" mode.
1.
USB Mass Storage Device
___Generic USB Flash Disk USB Device
______Generic volume
This is my USB2 Flash Drive [or Pen Drive] connected to a PCI to USB 2.0 card.
2.
USB Mass Storage Device
___Maxtor 6 Y080L0 USB Device
This is my IDE HDD inside an IDE to USB 2.0 external HDD enclosure, connected to my PCI to USB 2.0 card.
Notice that the two are given quite different descriptive names.

I don't think there is anything you can do so that the USB enclosure for the 2.5" drive is stopped from appearing in My Computer and Disk Management as an ordinary drive and not as a "Device with removable Storage" like floppies, CDs and USB flash/pen drives: even if the external needs to be removed using the icon in the system tray.
What is the actual problem this is causing you - perhaps there is a workaround.
