Hi,

I'm searching for an utility to restore erased files. I've lost some, I badly need them back. I want maximum reliability, as the files are important. Which tool can you recommend? (winXP, NTFS)

Moderator Comment:
THIS IS A SPURIOUS QUESTION inserted on behalf of Active@ to which they then reply later with an answer but waste every one else's time in the interim. This policy is affecting many Computer help BBs and the same thing has happened here in the past with similar routines.

Doon't do anything to the drive...don't save anything, don't defrag, don't...just don't do anything. Unless the anything is to make an image of the drive...

Then use the trial of GetDataBack (NTFS) (http://www.runtime.org/gdb.htm)...it will show you what you can recover...follow all instructions/warnings on the site.

For a full recovery you will probably need to buy the software...

I'm searching for an utility to restore erased files.Hope you mean deleted and not erased (which usually involves overwriting data with special utilities).

Silence - Do you have any selfish interest in promoting active-undelete. This looks very "spamish" even though it is a good product. Failure to convince us will lead to the link being removed.

I guess terry brian [1st post] and silence [1st post] are one and the same, eh?

Any ideas for introducing a system to eliminate this kind of thing?
