what is the best brand?

One of the hardwares that has always astonished me, is the vga cards. following the trend that gpu chips makers it is easy to tell which one is powerful, modest or poor. but how to tell which one is the best or worst when they are branded by companies? in other words how to classify a card made by xfx or msi having the same gpu? what i have experienced is, its only by using it that one can know which brand gives the best performance.

The GPU/VPU is the same no matter which manufacturer. The things to look for are core/ram speed, ram type, game bundles, cooling, and very important is what kind of warranty. And of course you would want to go with a manufacturer that has good reputation of dealing with customers fairly, just in case you have problems.

You are right though, it is sometimes hard to wade through the seemingly endless selection of video cards all with different specs. The video card is probably the most time consuming component to pick out.

You just have to take your time and compare the specs. ;)
