I just built a new system and Im kinda confused. Is PC3200 the same as DDR26400?
I'm going to probably litter this forum with questions as I tweak my rig so any help is appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to the http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif forums.
No, DDR is different from DDR2. The numbers have to do with how fast the ram is. 6400 is twice as fast as 3200. But the 2 in DDR2 has nothing to do with this. It is just the next version of the technology. If they are to come out with a new type of DDR it may very well be called DDR3.
Sometimes ram is referred to as DDR2-PC2 6400, or sometimes DDR2-800 (*8=6400). The PC, or PC2 in the case of DDR2, is the effective speed since the bus speed (800) is doubled twice.
I hope that helps and I didn't just confuse you further.
