I am contemplating changing my motherboard from the Intel 945Gpm (which I will sell in another build) and I want to replace the board with another one for my personal computer. I see alot of good comments on ASUS boards. Which one would best suit my needs for the socket 775? Will be used for Light gaming, surfing, and home office. I dont want to spend more than $150 but may condsider it.
Will it hurt to have two different name brand types of Ram (both are 667 Mhz) on the same board? PNY and Kingston.
With two sticks of Ram, should they be side by side or split and used in the two Blue slots?

My next question may be for another forum but I will throw it out there. I will have two Seagate 160G Hdd Raid 0. I also have one 320G WD. I want to load up and Raid the seagates first with XP or Vista, and then load the WD with Linux. Should I set up the two seagates first and then hook up the WD? Will the WD recognize the XP os or do I need to load it seperately? Not sure what order I should do this.

side note it probably would be better if you had these in two seperate threads
but usually its fine to mix two different brand types of ram (i am currently doing it)
secondly, they should be in the two blueslots as this will allow for dual channel ram which is faster
