Well, my idle temp on my C2D is 60c... Enough said. Granted I'm using the stock HSF. But, I'm about to order this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835118003. My question is, is there anything else that I can do to add cooling to the CPUish area in my case in addition to the aftermarket heatsink? I'm running the Thermaltake Kandalf right now (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811133152) that won't destroy aesthetics too much?

Try using some thermal compound, mainly arctic silver 5. You can pick up other thermal compound at bestbuy or online. the stock hsf should be more than enough if you are not overclocking.

I agree with the above recommendation.
How many case fans do you have? The new heatsink will to squat if there isn't any cool air for it to blow. You should have at least one on the front and one at the back.
You can test if you are not getting enough airflow by taking the side of the case off and using a house fan to blow air in. If the temps go down, then you need a better case cooling solution.

I won't discourage you from buying a Zalman, but I definitely agree with the others that something else is horribly wrong! 60C idle for a C2D?? Try re-doing the stock HSF with Arctic Silver 5. That and the side off/house fan test are both cheap and effective ways to figure out just what went wrong.
