Charles,

Is there any way to make the topic tracking smart enough to recognize that if you post on a topic that you are tracking you don't want a email telling you that you just posted a reply?

Mike

Hi Mike,
It could be made smart enough if I were smart enough. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif I think I looked into this once and it wasn't a simple thing to do, but I don't remember the reason. I will check again and if I can fix it, I will.

I would like to say that while I used to wonder why it would always notify me of my own posts, I liked that better than now, as it will only email me that someone has replied to a post that I have started.

I have OE set to check every 5 mins and if I'm trying to answer/keep up with 5 to 8 threads in different sections I found it nicer to be notified of the posts I was trying to help with. I have sometimes missed (forgotten) to check on a few posts as they seem to have been 'lost in the shuffle'.. (by me)

I really LIKED the email notification feature, and MISS it allot.

I was looking at the code/script for it in admin files for UBB 4.56- and it is a bit confusing. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/eek.gif

sea, I think you may have two different features mixed up. One is the box that notifies you of replies to a new topic. But you can also hit "Track Topic" on any thread to be notified when new items are posted to it.
