View Full Version : Empty/undeletable noname folder?

Hi everyone..
I have a slight problem, that some of you guys here might be able to help me with..
The thing is that i have installed a program called Anapod Explorer some time ago.. I realized that this program wasn't what i wanted so I tried to uninstall it, but without luck... So i started to try and delete all the files i could find that were related to the program and Red Chair Software...
When i had deleted everything in my power i realized that there still was an empty folder with no name, that is empty, and i am not able to delete it.
Its lying in My Computer, and it says that it is a system folder, therefore i am unable to delete it... (the map earlier said anapod explorer)
I have taken a screenshot so you can see how it looks.. http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/3213/tommappemi7.jpg

Hope someone can help me :) :)
Thank you,

What language version are you running?

There is a chance that the folder a name. It just is in characters that are not displayed in under your language settings...

Also there is a chance that whatever you are dealing with could be classed as 'malware'...

I use Danish language settings if that is what you mean...
But i just think its wierd if the problem is malware.. Since I always remember to scan my computer with different programs...

Seems as if Anapod Explorer (http://anapod-explorer.en.softonic.com/ie/41573) integrates an iPod through full Windows Explorer integration. Such integration would need to be uninstalled I am sure. Perhaps you could reinstall and then uninstall or else try a System Restore.

Yes, that is probably the only solution, however I am not that familiar with the whole system restore thing. So I was wondering if have to do a system restore the whole way back to when i installed Anapod Explorer, or is it simply possible to create a system restore point and the take that? The problem is that I have installe alot of programs after I installed Anapod, and if all them have to be deleted then it's quite alot of extra work... :S

Never mind, I solved it by installing it again and adding a /NCRC command in the uninstall properties. :) Thank you for your help

One way to EASILY solve many software problems such as this is...

1. Make image backups of C: at key points as you move forward in time and making changes to the software [not all for the better].
Like just before installing [or uninstalling if there's a chance you might want it back] software, or making some significant configuration change.

2. If you hit a [software] problem, or so much as suspect that all is not well, just restore a suitable image to restore things the way you like.

3. Keep a written log of all the significant changes.
It has become quite routine for me to do this, it takes little time and effort.
I record...
a. Installs.
b. Image backups.
c. Restores.

4. It's a VERY good idea to move all data files off C: so that when you make the Windows partition "jump back", the data files are unaffected.
