View Full Version : Only because I'm stupid

Twice now I've posted and then after I read what was posted, I wished I could delete it. How much of a pain, would that be, to make possible? Once I was in the wrong forum, the other time I thought I was replying with a quote but ended up just furthering an already begun thread. I suppose if I didn't care about trying to appear intelligent and having one of the "superlative" geeks correct my ineptness....even now I feel like Oliver in the orphanage daring to ask for more.

Hey, nim. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif You have an hour after you post a reply to go back and edit
it, but only if nobody else has already added a reply after yours. Just
click on the original message title, click your browser's refresh button,
and scroll down to your last reply. If no one has added one after yours,
click the edit icon above your message. Make your changes and click the
Submit button. You can erase all the text if you want, but most people who
do that leave at least something there -- maybe just "Never Mind"
or "Oops" and a smilie icon. Sometimes you have to be quick -- someone
might be sending a new reply while you're editing. You'll get a message if
that happens. You'll get the hang of it. Just a hint -- you probably
should have put this message in 'After Hours' or maybe 'How Do I'. This
section here is more for suggesting new features or additions you'd like
to see added to the web site. Read the descriptions by the categories for
some hints, or go into that area and read a couple of the messages to get
a feel for it. We all had to learn and we've all made mistakes.
Nobody's going to flame you for it. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif

Actually I think the suggestion area is appropriate, it has been discussed here (http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/Forum4/HTML/000013.html) and here (http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/Forum7/HTML/000015.html), but I think if you read those two links it will explain the whys and whats about the way things operate here.
