I have a pc on w2k server and a HP notebook on win xp pro. I have a wireless router connected to the w2k sever's one. The internet is working fine on both them, and both computers can talk. I used default work group for both and named pc1 and pc2, respectevely. When doing ping connectivity, to router and among PCs, everything seems to be fine. On "my network places " can see computer pc1 and pc2 on both, and I can share folders from server (pc1) to client (pc2) , but when sharing folders from client (pc2)(winxp pro) to server (pc1), a windows popup asks me for user and password, I haven't created any users and passwords, both are setup as a administrators.

I've tried very hard and couldn't get access from winxp to win2k server.

Any ideas...somebody can help me ??

Windows 2000 Professional or Windows 2000 Server. Do you have a domain setup? We need a whole lot more information to help you.

Assuming you are not using simple file sharing. You need to give the administrator account a password on both machines. When you log into a machine your credentials are saved and passed during the file sharing transaction. XP requires a password set by default for file sharing.
