I'm looking for 2 capacitors i think, which have fallen off my Winfast A380 Ultra 256MB (FX5950) and gotten lost.

They say:

3 4
1 000
1 6A

Not sure what they are, or where to get replacements.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

Welcome to http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif

From what I can tell, yes those are capacitors... although this will probably be a very tedious operation to find the correct replacements and solder them back on. My suggestion would be to dump the card and buy a replacement, they are quite cheap these days. There are ways to fix it... it's just a matter of how much patience you have and how important it is (and how much money you're willing to spend, of course)

Are you good with a soldering iron?

Yes, those are electrolytic capacitors (1000 uF, 16V). Your card could function more-or-less correctly without them, and if the card hasn't given problems so far you may continue using it.

I always thought SMD electrolytics were a terrible idea to begin with.

Not sure whether i'll attempt the repair (think it's time for PCI-E and SLI...), but cheers for the info.

Thanks lads.
