Hello,
This system is running Windows XP. I used this adapter very successfully at first. My harddrive crashed and I reinstalled the OS and have been trying to connect but i have been unable to .....using the same USB adapter.
I also tried another USB adapter and I am still unsuccessful.
The signal strength is always showing low or none.

I am frustrated now as I have tried everything I know to no avail.
Any assistance in solving this problemm would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Kindest regards,

karlev

alright here is what SHOULD work:

Go to the MS-DOS prompt (Command Prompt) under Windows XP
type ipconfig
Where it says IP Address, remember that number
Where it says Subnet Mask, remember that number also
Where it says Default Gateway, remember that number

Go to Control Panel
Double click Network
Find your device, click properties
Find Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click properties
Put the recorded IP Address in the box given
Put the recorded Subnet Mask in the box given
Put the recorded Default Gateway in the box given

Click OK
Restart the computer (if needed)
All problems should be fixed.
