Hello to all!

Does anyone know how one can turn OFF Adobe Reader 8 Auto-updater? Every time AR8 is executed, Auto updater starts auto-connecting to ADOBE for updates (via LAN). That action is taking lots of computer power. Updater5 file is created every time this happens and I really don*t like this feature. I would like to decide for myself, when ADOBE updates should be taking place.

Thank you!

I have been trying to get the same thing done for over a month now...i would have much preferred sticking with Reader 7, but my wife uses a lot of PDFs and some of them REQUIRE 8...

What is really annoying, is that if you block it, it will bog everything down until it times out...about 10 minutes or so...unless you kill, not the the main program, but the updater, which runs 'windowless' until the timeout error happens, then it gets a 'window'...so the updater doesn't show up int Task manager until it timesout. (it does show in Process Explorer by Sysinternals).
