Ok. This morning i was burning some dvd's. Cause it takes to long i went down for a smoke and came back the Comp was off...thought to myself ok it powered down because it got too hot... I tried to turn it back on but it powers on for a split second(powering on the fans and led's) and turns right back off... Im like O.K. maybe its still too hot(from vegas and its getting hot already).. i unplug everything tidy up the cables a little, switch wall plugs and waited for a bit... waited till everything inside and out was cool to the touch. Still no luck. I smell around for smoke or something burning...nothing. I check for the mobo light hoping it didnt fry...still on. Both Hard drives are working. nothing was loose either. Now im stumped and need help... Heres what i have in my computer:

Intel(R) Pentium(R) Extreme Edition 965 Dual-Core CPU w/HT Technology
3.73GHz 1066FSB 2x2MB Cache, 64 Bit

2x 500 gb sata-II 3.0Gb/s 16M Cache 7200RPM Hard Drive

w/7.1Audio,GbLAN,&USB2

2x Kingston Hyper-X High Performance Memory w/ Heat Spreader

Super Alien 500 Watt Power Supply w/ Fan Speed Control

Creative Labs X-FI XtremeMusic 24-BIT PCI Sound Card

TV Tuner with FM Stereo + Remote Control

No Floppy

I dont have a second computer capable of testing any of these components.

Dont know what other details to give either... But hope someone might be able to mention something that would help.

Hi.
Does your pc makes any sound before switching off? And when you try to put it on does the power supply wokrs,i.e can your hear the fan? OR you press on the switch button and nothing happens?

nope no sounds... a typical sound of fans starting then stops... i do think its the power unit... i asked an uncle to bring some tools and i can know if its the power unit or not... but other than the ps dont know what else could cause it.

alright sorry for this but it was just as i thought it was the power supply ran it with the tools i got and it shorted out... some of the parts were black so the psu was having serious over heating issues. this computer is fairly new less than 7 months old... but most importantly majority of the parts are still under warranty. I contacted the newegg and their shipping a better cooled psu to me. god i hate vegas and its hot weather... also found out why my computer was running so hot. the psu was putting out too much heat from the very start. Ran my spare one and everything idled quite lower than before... probably a damaged or defective unit from the very start... thanks to those who gave thought to my problem ;)
