View Full Version : Offline install of swf player.

Can anyone recommend a SWF player that can be installed offline.
The adobe products always look for a connection to the web. Is their a free option (preferably with no pop-ups etc) to install onto a machine that's not connected to the web.

Your web browser will play swf files.

Unfortunately not on the PC concerned. It's not connected to the web.

Why do you say this pc doesn't play them? IE and Firefox play swf files just fine! You don't need adobe at all.

I used to save loads of swf files for kid's games and such. I set the 'opens with' to my browser and it works like a charm. :)

I take it that by default a swf file should play using IE or Firefox.
On the machine in question the file won't play. It now looks like could be that the swf file is corrupt.

My impression was that it was missing a codec or an add-in that was the reason for the original post.

As I recall, you do need to install shockwave support in those browsers. I don't know of any way to do that offline.
