i just used my computer early and it worked fine, but suddenly my AVR has blown or something inside it was blow..I know that its already dead, so i used another AVR..but when when i switch on my computer it doesn't work, no power at all..so i tried changing the power supply of my computer, thinking that it doesn't work anymore coz or maybe it was affectecd by the AVR that when it blown up.

To make it short, after installing the supply, when i try to switch on the AVR...my computer automatically power on, even though that i didnt pushed the switch on button..theres no beeping, no display, but the fan still spinning...

can anyone give me some advice which part is defected, and how can i troubleshoot it..i know just a little things about computer hardware...hope you can give me a piece of information..TY

I'm sorry, but what is an AVR, let alone one with a switch?

Ahh, thought you were calling your PSU that until I saw you mention replacing the PSU as well, then I was stuck to what it may be.

Sounds like a voltage spike like a lightning strike took out a few things in your pc. For starters, do a barebones boot to see if your system is salvageable.

Strip it down to mobo, PSU, CPU w/HSF, internal pc speaker, mouse and keyboard only. Remove all peripherals such as hard drive, CD-ROM's etc. Also remove RAM to see if you gat the speaker to report RAM failure just to know it works. If you get that error, power back down and put in 1 stick of RAM at a time. See if the pc will POST.

Let us know in a reply how far you get, also your system specs and OS would be nice so we can visualize the patient. ;)

i tried running the mobo out of its case, without cpu, only the fan....and it's still automatic on..after switching on the AVR....
