Hello;

I recently built my own computer. The specs are:

MoBo: Intel Desktop Board D946GZIS
PSU: Linkworld LPG2-43-P4-IO ATX12V 630W
Memory: Kingston 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory,
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 Conroe 1.86GHz 2M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor,
Standard floppy, CD writer
Seagate 250 GB harddrive.
Rosewell Computer Case

When I pressed the power button the processer and the PSU runs but the CD, hdd and floppy do not run. I've exchanged out the CD with another CD-rom which I know works and nothing happens. I switched out the cables and still nothing. Does anyone have any other suggestions?:confused:

I assume you haven't been able to put an operating system (OS) or anything yet correct?

One thing it could be is your boot sequence in bios. Default is probably booting from floppy. Switch that to boot from CD rom if you are ready to install your OS.

Another thing it may be is your RAM. Is it only one module? If it is 1 module, try sticking it in the 3rd ram slot. If two modules, try only using one, and sticking that in the 3rd ram slot.

I haven't been able to even get to the BIOS in to configure it. Nothing appears on my monitor. For the RAM I only have two RAM slots. Should I try installing it in the second slot?

Does the system beep at all? If the drives aren't even running, it's not getting through the POST. Strip it down to barebones and try again.
