Hello: I just upgraded to the latest version of Firefox and I have the option of selecting add-ons. Can someone please tell me more about these add-ons and also recommend good ones. I presently use google as my search engine. Thanks a lot.

I add search engines to the ones available by default:
Wikipedia
Merriam Webster dictionary
and more.
For security:
NoScript (allows you to control Javascript and others for individual sites)
Image Zoom
Show IP
United States dictionary (makes spell check smarter)

Thanks much for your reply. I am not a computer savey person:confused: , therefore if you could please explain (in the simplest and easiest to understand terms) which add-ons are worthwhile, it would be most appreciated.

All of the suggested ones are worthwhile IMHO.
additional explanations:
Show IP (allows you to see the address of the website you are connected to, & shows the address in lower right corner of the browser screen. It gives you a tool to see where you are being directed, a real site or an imposter site)
Image Zoom (allows you to right-click individual images (or pictures) on a page and enlarge them to view them if too small.)
The value of any Addon Extension is a matter of personal choice in FireFox, the ones mentioned are some, not all of the ones I use.
