hey all,

im building myself a 'budget' pc cos my one atm is well ... crap.

i was going to get a X1800GTO, but my mum just told me she will get me a card ... so i can get a better one. the only thing is i dont know what to get....

The stuff i have atm is:

Foxconn SKT939 Nforce4-SLI
AMD Athlon 64 4000+
Maxtor 160GB HD
Hiper 435W Silver Mesh power suply

i was thinking about getting a Sapphire ATI X1950XT, but i dont know if the power supply i have will be able to cope.

so first, would my power supply handle that card, but also do you know any other cards that would be better for me to use?

any help would be great

well, after a bit of asking, my mum says she will buy me a 8800gts .. the only thing is people are telling me to get another power supply if i get that card.

any way, i was looking at the specs of the card and it says you need a 400W power supply. mine is 435W so would it work with mine? i dont know how much power the rest of a pc needs, but would a 435W work?

please help, i could really do with finding out tonight, so i can get it ordered tomorrow and finish building my pc :D

thanks in advance,
Dave

edit:

this is where it says about the 400w psu (at the bottom)
