I've never liked google and now they've given me a reason. After having to perform a clean install of XP home edition and finding it no longer liked my product key I decided to look for a crack rather than deal with microsoft who just seem to respond with an "if I understand" email which, solves very little. I disregarded my favourate search engine altavista as google is usually better for all types of piracy, and sure enough a result from crack spider came up.
It's when I clicked the link that I became annoyed. http://www.google.co.uk/interstitial?url=http://crackspider.net/search.shtml%3Fq%3Dwindows%2520xp%2520home A warning page with no link to the website i'm trying to reach but one to stopbadware.org. Crackspider is merely a site index and where was I when badware became a popular term?.

Let's see, you are too lazy to pick up the phone and call Microsoft to activate your copy of Windows so you want to use a pirated key and your upset that Goggle will not assist you in performance of this obviously illegal, unethical and immoral act.
You'll get as much help and sympathy here as you got from google. NONE!!!
WE DO NOT CONDONE HACKING, CRACKING OR PIRACY

Why should I phone microsoft if their online activation is pants. Also it has nothing to do with sympathy. It's about the freedom of the internet which is being undermined by corporations like google. I know the chinese google sensors but last time I checked we where still in the western world.

Because it's the rules. Microsoft owns Windows and you must abide by their rules. Don't like it, use Linnux.
It's about the freedom of the internet which is being undermined by corporations like google.
I don't want Google telling you how to break into my house. You should not be looking for help to do something that is illegal.
last time I checked we where still in the western world.
Yes, we are in the Western World where we have the rule of law. Where law abiding citizens follow the rules. You have options, follow the agreement you have with Microsoft, switch to an alternative OS, don't use a computer or use an illegal hack or crack.
You have settled on the illegal option and you are shocked a major corporation will not assist you.

I am suprised that as an american you don't see how even supposed leaders fail to abide by the rule of law. The ethos of Britain has recently changed to the law being what we live by but justice being somewhat harder to achieve.

So, two wrongs don't make a right. If it's wrong, it's wrong... As far as leaders, the last time I checked they were still human beings and suffer the same propensity to failure as the rest of us....

Really, Mr Blair lies to the British public then disregards a million protestors and goes to war. A little closer to home (that being yours), Bush is on video sitting on his hands whilst your own people suffer the effects of a hurricane. The world for many a year has been an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth... but that doesn't mean you can't tell the truth. :D Good night.

Look, Google gave you the URL, all you've got to do is copy and paste it into your browser's address line.
Crack/warez/etc. sites are notorious for dropping unwanted gunk onto visitors' pc's. I'd be thankful, seeing it as a reminder that you might want to make sure you've got adequate protection against the gunk before you go any further down that road...

I'm afraid that you started off with an incorrect premise and statement. The link to the website you want to mess with is actually in the url you posted - it just happens to follow the first part of the url, viz omit:- http://www.google.co.uk/interstitial?url=
Google provide a link to badware.org in an obviously misguided attempt to help protect you and which you could have visited if you wanted to.
Your rantings are inappropriate, based on misunderstanding what is actually going on and relate to a nefarious activity not supported on these boards. If you original windows was legit and you have internet access then reactivation is a quick no-brainer.

I heard about a politician who killed someone, so I guess that means it would be okay for me to kill someone...
I heard of a politician (or dozens) who took bribes, so I guess that means that it would be okay for me to take bribes...
I heard of a politician (or any other profession you wish to cite) who stole the life savings of thousands of people, so I guess that means it is okay for me to steal your life savings too...
Your logic is absurd... Just because someone else commits a stupid or illegal act doesn't justify you doing the same thing, especially when the only excuse for your choice is that you are lazy... You do make an excellent argument for viewing you as mentally challenged since you say you believe using a crack to steal an activation from a site that will likely infect and possibly even destroy your install is somehow easier than picking up the phone and getting your copy of Windows reactivated... At least if you want to be a criminal, have the good taste to keep it to yourself and not try to justify it by some kind of weird argument about the freedom of the internet...

That's my point. Many people I know can't and it's those google is blocking from reaching what is essentially another search engine. This particular site had no 'unwanted gunk', so the reason for google trying to 'help protect me' as paul puts it, still alludes.
Also I did state online activation wasn't working and I did visit stopbadware.org. They recommend you don't download software from a site which doesn't host any! Plus http://www.google.co.uk/interstitial?url= brings up a forbidden page?
Finally Budfred. I've never heard of a politician killing, taking bribes or stealing thousands of peoples life savings? Is that what they do in minn? It would be mentally challenged to not think I have a right to use my legitimate version of windows which is cracked and infection free. (quick, log my IP ad).

It would be mentally challenged to not think I have a right to use my legitimate version of windows which is cracked and infection free. (quick, log my IP ad).
You are obviously mentally challenged. You installed Windows. When you did it, you got a Software License Agreement. You agreed to abide by the SLA. Now that you are monumentally inconvenienced by picking up a telephone to call Microsoft, you feel you have the right to violate the agreement you agreed to when you installed Windows the first time. YOU DON'T.
Human beings have the ability to rationalize any behavior that suits them. This topic has nothing to do with politicians who do or do not keep their word. This topic has to with a human being, you, who feels they have the right to use a product that a private company developed and licensed to you at great cost to them, in manner inconsistent with the license you so readily agreed to when you got Windows the first time.
So, you really have four choices.
Pick up the phone and call Microsft and activate Windows legally.
Don't use a computer at all.
Install Linnux or an alternate Operating System.
Use the crack you are determined to use.
Since you are so determined to use option 4, despite our best efforts to dissuade you, please DO NOT post back here when due to using a cracked version of Windows you:
Get Spyware at the Crack Site
Fail WGA and are unable to get any updates
Get infected with a virus or spyware because of Option #4
Get your bank account cleaned out because a key logger was installed on your system because of option #4
This thread is being locked. Three moderators and a general user have attempted to dissuade you from committing this obviously illegal and unethical act without any success. There is no point in discussing this further. The topic will be closed after this post.
