In order to save space and bandwidth might it not be a good idea to delete all the "This message has been edited by" tags when an item is repeatedly edited? http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Nice thought, but it would take me all night...if I were to try it anyway, and I also avoid editing others' posts except when necessary, mainly to remove profanity or unacceptible links. Otherwise I leave them alone.
Individuals can do this when they edit, the "edited by" line is at the bottom except for the current edit, that one cannot be removed. I usually try to remove mine, but don't always remember it.

Pete I should have been more precise. No question that moderators should do that; I realize you have enough on your plate. I was thinking of contributors who, for the best of reasons, re-edit and re-edit their posts. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

OK, misunderstood what you were getting at. Good idea, I try to do that but don't always remember. When other folks edit 3 or 4 times I just grin and keep going...kinda tends to be a reminder of our humanity, none of us are perfect and we all make mistakes. And sometimes seeing others edit a post several times is a good thing, lets me know I'm not the only one that can't type...

The forums automatically append that tag when you edit a post. However, if you edit a post again, the first note is in the text; so if you don't want to see it multiple times, just snip it off the bottom. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
