When someone joins the forums would it not be better, for them and others on the forums, to enter their country of residence?
ie. I stay in Scotland and if someone suggets that I would be better with so or so part, they will be able look at my profile then say go to "PC world" or whoever in the UK, as opposed to a firm in the USA

Well, I suppose it would be better if folks entered their country of residence for things of that nature, but many people don't. It's optional, rather than required, so people can elect not to post their residence. That's probably because some are rather particular about submitting any more personal infoprmation than necessary on the Internet.

Even when people do include a residence, we don't always check it before posting links to vendors. I'm guilty too, I usually don't think about it till it's too late...

Then you have people who put things like "Third rock from the Sun"... http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
