i want my comp to go into system standby after __ mins of inactivity but it doesn't do it automatically, if i hit the sleep button on my keyboard it does go into system standby and i can hear the comp. shutoff, i tried for it to go into system standby after 1 min of inactivity but it doesn't just to see if it will shutoff.

anyone know why it won't go into auto standby? is there something in my bios i have to configure?

Looking at the manual for my oldest PC made 1997...
"Power Management Setup Menu"
Power Management : [User Define, Max Savings, Min Savings, Disabled]
PM Control by APM : [Yes, No]
Video Off Option : [Susp,Stdby->Off | Suspend->Off | Always On]
Suspend Switch : [Enable, Disable]

"PM Timers"
HDD Off After : [Set a time | Disabled]
Suspend Mode : [Set a time | Disabled] Time can be set when Power Management = User Define.

"what are you telling me? i don't understand"
You said "is there something in my bios i have to configure?"
Well, I don't have your BIOS in front of me, and I don't know what settings are in your BIOS, but if they are anything like that BIOS and its settings I listed, then there will be settings to be configured.
Why not go into your BIOS, see what settings are there, note them and type them here?
I/we might be able to suggest what your settings should be.

Upload the pdf file to HERE (http://www.verzend.be/), then send me the link to it in a PM or email.

Or better still if you want everyone here to have the chance to read it and help...
Just post the link here in this thread.

Wouldn't it be easier and MUCH simpler to get the name of the pdf and download one from the same site as it was downloaded from the first time?
