Rebates

A section on rebates where people could post problems they have had with particular companies not honoring their rebates. People could post solutions, if they have managed to solve a rebate problem, by way of who to call, phone numbers, email addresses, people to write to, or just brands to avoid as far as rebates are concerned. It seems like most everytime you buy anything related to a computer, you have to gamble on whether you will get the rebate. I'm currenty working on a rebate problem from circuit city/philips. I called the number listed on the receipt. There was a recording saying they no longer handles philips rebates and it gave me another number to call, then it hung up on me...no option to speak to anyone. I called the number I was given, and they said they never recieved anything from me and told me to call back in a week while they worked on my case.

I've read where a lot of people aren't getting rebates from prime peripherals.

There must be some way to fight back with all the rebate scams going on.

Contact your local Better Business Bureau, State Attorney General's Office or the Federal Trade Commission.

That's about the best I can tell you, I doubt if the forums are going to turn into a consumer watchdog group...
