Currently on AOL Broadband. Decided to buy a NETGEAR NEXT DG834N Router, so i could use a laptop downstairs for the internet connection.
I have gone through the step by step tutorial on the CD, and connected the router to my PC. everything works fine on the PC, can use the Internet. but my laptop, which has a bulit in wireless adapter, will not pick up the router. I use the laptop at work, there it just pops up saying new wireless connection found. but here at home, nothing can be found.
can anybody help me please ??

In the first instance is the wireless functionality enabled in the router. It usually is by default but check.
Secondly, you will probably need to go into the routers wireless section and look for an item that says soemthing like 'Wireless station Access List' there should be a tab close to that which says 'Set up access List'. Click on it
There should be to sections to that page top and bottom. At the top of the page there should be an entry which says 'Turn Access Control on'. In the first instance place a tick in that box.
Now in the bottom box look for the mac of the wireless card form the bottom pane and click add.

That wouldn't happen to be your website would it... We really don't appreciate it when people seem to be joining the forum just to advertise... If it is not, it is a good idea to post a bit about other things so we can get to know you before you start sending people to websites....
If you are legit, welcome to PCGuide...

dity-fifi.com was only registered in January 2007 and its forum has just 11 members. IMHO this is a spam/searchbot trap and I have removed the active link.
