Ok strange problem. I have recently had a problem. I started getting a "CPU unworkable or has been changed"
I have a Celeron 450 and Award Bios.
So I check the BIOS and it set to 266..so I change it back to 450 but now it locks up while booting up.
So I reloaded the defaults which goes to 266 and then I get the above error again. IF i push "F1" to continue windows loads up normally. Any solutions.
Thanks

Not that I know the answer, but has anything untoward happened to your computer recently? Fell on its side or something like that? I would check to ensure that the cpu is seated properly and that there is adequate cooling in there. Someone else may have a more useful response, tho.

Either the BIOS doesn't recognize the CPU stepping or you're overclocking. If overclocking, turn off the 'Speed Error Hold' thingey. If not overclocking, try resetting the BIOS to it's default settings. If that doesn't help, flash the board to the latest BIOS.

Good luck.
