im running on windows 2000 now because i dont really like xp or vista but...ive come to the conclusion that its been like 7 years and im planning on just getting vista soon...

im upgrading my comp and under the specs on some video cards and stuff it says "windows 2000/xp"...and some others say "vista ready". so im wondering if the ones that dont mention vista will work with vista on my comp...im guessing they will...if not thats really _____

Microsoft is already being sued for allowing hardware to be labelled "Vista Ready" when the only Vista version it can run is Vista Basic.
Do not even consider running mid to upper Vista versions on marginal hardware, it is designed for use with powerful modern hardware, not the old stuff.

Here are the official minimum specs for Vista PCs:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/buyorupgrade/capable.mspx
You would want to exceed the Vista Premium Ready requirements.
Read all the footnotes also.
