Diablo II unstable?

my friend loves to play Diablo II, and he plays it on my main rig when hes over here from time to time, but when he connects to Battle.net it seems to freeze the computer, i know my computer can handle it. So what is the problem?

BTW my GC is an nVidia Vanta/Riva TNT2 16MB AGP 4x card (i know i need an upgrade)

Any needed ports being blocked by the firewall? Any patches on Battle.net? Have you tried the WinSock fix? What ethernet card do you have?

No the firewall lets Diablo II go at will

I Have the latest patch

I know of no WinSock fix

I have an Encore Technologies IEEE 802.11g PCI adapter. Exact Model Unknown.

Wireless, huh? Have you tried it on wired, just on the off-chance it might work? Do you have any other online/multiplayer games you can use to test? Like perhaps StarCraft, which also uses Battle.NET?

Nope, just Diablo II

I do have Age of Empires II: The Conquerors. Great Game. I Dont Know Where To Get Online With It Nymore as M$ just HAD to stop Online Function for it.

If it's just Diablo II, then it must be the game itself that's the problem. Have you tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it? Patching it? All that fun stuff?
