Maybe a silly question, but is a floppy disk termed as computer hardware or software?

Welcome to The PC Guide
The floppy disk is considered hardware but the data that is on it is software. There is a fine line between hardware and software. The way to tell the diferance is if you can hold it in your hand and look at it it is hardware, if you can't it is software.

Floppy disks are hardware. The "floppy" can be confusing, hehe. Here's some basics for the confused: http://www.pickyguide.com/computers_and_software/floppy_disks_guide.html :D
