My thinkpad has stopped charging with the AC adapter. It still gets juice through the adapter - doesn't shut off even when battery is showing zero charge left, but it is not charging and the computer battery icon does not indicate that it is plugged into the adapter. Battery does charge when in the docking station. Any troubleshooting help would be appreciated.

If you still haven't resolved this problem, I would suggest checking the output voltage/amperage rating of the AC adapter against the same ratings on the plate on the underside of your Thinkpad. You need to have an adapter that will feed the right amount of power to the laptop or things won't work properly. I had to replace the adapter on my Thinkpad 600E (now being retired in favor of a T30) twice because of this problem; the first time it was feeding too much power, then the first replacement didn't put out enough power. Try to find a place in your area that specializes in repairing and refurbishing laptops; they might have a number of spare adapters on hand for you to try.
