It was suggested once before that some questions could be answered easily by checking the PC Guide first.

How about a link from each of the Forums to that part of the Guide covering the general area involved?

Two potential benefits:

1. If the Poster bypassed the PC Guide front door and came directly into
the Forums...they really ought to have a look at the PC Guide. They
might see the value of owning the CD! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif

2. The Poster would have a chance to familiarize themselves with the basics
of their knowledge quest.

Sounds good to me Whyzman. I often jump across to the main site when I come across questions or answers in areas I am unsure of, (which are many). I wonder how many new posters or onlookers find the forum but are unaware of the main site.

I agree. I have the forums topic guide in my favorites. I have learned alot from them. Charles did an outstanding job.

geebee, Exactly...I think if folks do a Google search on a problem their "hits" might take them directly to the Forums bypassing the main Guide altogether.

The Link to the PC Guide (http://www.pcguide.com) is found at the bottom of each page. There is a complete PC Guide available on CD. It is an excellent resource for troubleshooting as well as understanding how things work!
