I know that there has always been problems with people posting new messages in the announcement category but it seems there have been more lately, is there not a way for Pete to lock or remove the 'New Message' link to keep this from happening? I know it would be nice if new memebers would read the rules first but it appears that they either don't or just aren't paying attention. What do ya'll think?

"Locking" the Announcements forum is something that will have to be done in the UBB code, and Ixl (Charles) would have to do that, I don't have access to the actual code.
