Has anyone run into one system with two bios available for it?

I am working on a New :( Acer computer
The Aspire 3690 with vista on it :(

Talk about a dog of a system
I went to their web site and wanted to download any and all of the winxp drivers in preparation for a clean install of XP

I found 2 bios listed

Has anyone removed/over written a Vista bios with a standard bios ?
If so what pitfalls if any have you run into

This Vista bios may be the cause of this persons problems installing and running XP
They reinstalled vista and it is up and running .
BUT a Celeron M @1.6 is not going to ever run vista at an acceptable rate

So I would like to get XP installed on it for her

I get to be the ginny pig on this one also..

Oh well I'll let you know what happens when the new copy of XP-media e get here.
Should be interesting to find out if it is possible to reverse vista

I found 2 bios listed
Is that two separate flashes or two distinct ROM chips or a hybrid ROM chip even?

http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_3690.html

The site shows it as two flash models
One for vista and the standard update
