Installed a game last night (Tom Lancy's Ghost Recon) then after switching PC off then switching back on again I get the message:

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:

System32\Ntoskrnl.exe

Please re-install a copy of the above file.

Now I'm sure I could repair that problem were it not for the fact that the Recovery Console doesnt seem to want to work either. I get as far as the screen which gives me the option to Rpair Format or Quit but pressing the keyboard buttons has no effect whatsoever. WHy isnt it working?

Please help, pulling my hair out (by the way only bought computer last week). Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Marc

By the way I'm running Win XP Media centre Edition

Looks like a keyboard issue.

Can you try another one?

If you have a USB keyboard it may not work in BIOS or Recovery Console.
Check if there is a setting for Legacy USB in BIOS (you need a PS/2 keyboard to do that).
