I am on a college network and have installed Trend Micro's PC-Cillin 2007 Internet Security Suite, which has an Antivirus and firewall program.

I ran tests on grc.com and it told me that I had open ports when I scanned the Service ports.

I have bumped all my security settings on my firewall to max, but still it shows that these ports are open. I do not have a router since I am on a college network, which they supposedly provide us with a network firewall by default.

What should I do about closing these open ports?

What Firewall are you using? You will have to dig in the advanced section to setup rules for a specific port.

Sorry for the long reply.

I am using Trend-Micro's PC-Cillin Internet Security Suite, since it is the only firewall compatible with 64-bit Vista. I have even set my security rules to max but that only covers up an additional two to three ports out of 50+ that are still open.

Then those ports will have to remain open and you will have to monitor traffic on the ports yourself.
