Just a quick question:

For a PC being used only for storage and listening to winamp radio, etc. No real fancy video card or sound card is going to go in here, just something half-way decent. No games, no hardcore media apps.

AMD or intel?
Mobo for your prefered CPU
Prefered cooling method for this combo

Budget this whole PC $1000

Thanks.

Forgot to mention that one preference for the CPU was that it should run pretty cool, no need to have crazy cooling to keep it running smooth (ie: a good fan and heatsink should be all that is necessary)

*I do not plan on overclocking. I'm trying to keep it running as cool as possible for as cheap as possible. Low cost and long life is important. Outside of that I don't care.

If you plan to overclock, get a beefy heatsink like a Zalman (around 50 dollars from newegg).

Why do you want to overclock if you plan on doing nothing with your computer but listen to music? The radio is much less than what you are willing to spend.

the intel core 2 duos run cool and they come with a very good heat sink and fan i have OC'ed from 2.13 - 2.6 with the basic cooling and the temp hasn't changed
