Does anyone know if Windows Vista hard drive can be partitioned? I want the option to be able to boot to Windows XP or Vista.
thanks

There's no fundamental difference in dual-booting XP/Vista than with earlier versions of Windows but if you go the "Microsoft Way" and share the system primary partition you will have to fix things afterwards if you install XP after Vista. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919529

It should be straightforward if you install WinXP first.

The alternative is to create a second primary partition for WinXP (having first resized the Vista Partition if necessary and HIDDEN IT). Then install XP into the new partition and when you are ready install a third-party boot manager such as BiNG (in my sig) or XOSL to choose which primary partition to choose at startup and to make it visible. BiNG can also be used to non-destructively resize the Vista partition to make room for a second partition but do backup data first just in case.
