I recently tried to add an intell Pro/Wireless 2915ABG network connection card to my IBM T21. I installed tha internal antenna behind the screen, and then removed the old ethernet/modem combo card and installed the wireless one. When I power on the machine it reconizes the card and I am able to install the most recent driver from Intel. But when I check in the device manager there is a yellow ? by the device and it says the device could not start. I reseated the card several times, rebooted, unistalled, reinstalled. etc.
Can anyone give me any pointers in the right direction.
Thanks
Brian
You might not be able to get an internal card to work on that model laptop. IBM has some limitations on use of that PCI slot, and requires specific models of cards. Sometime it won't even boot up if it doesn't like the card, so your best bet is to use a PCMCIA adapter.

Does anyone know where I could find a list of IBM models that do except internal cards? And which type of cards work? I have a t23 and it works fine with this same setup that is why I thought it would work in the t21. Thanks for the info
Official support for internal WiFi started with the T4x and X3x series as far as I know. Unofficially, as with the T23, it can be made to work. If you are really determined to have a T2x series laptop with internal WiFi I would read up and Google to see what combinations of laptop, BIOS, and card others have had success with. Or if you have time and money just play around with various different combos until it works.
