Hi, first topic so please forgive me if I give too much detail. I have just tried to clean install vista on a newbuild as follows:

MSI nForce 570 ATX K9n ultra A7250 NMS v3.00
AMD Athlon (tm) 64 x2 4200+
Crucial 2 x 512mb DDR2 (667mh)
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320gb S300
NVIDIA GeForce 7600GS 512 mb DDR2

Window says files are being installed and hard disk light is on. Once that is done, it just goes to the Microsoft green snake, and doesn't reach the splash screen. I cna load XP on this system so suspect build is basically o/k. Also, I can get as far as the splash screen installing Vista on my older more basic PC, so disk is o/k! Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks very much.

Naff description I know, but I mean the screen just before the Vista splash screen, it hust shows the colour bars going from left to right, as in XP before you get to the welcome screen. I get past this screen on my old PC, taking me to the splash screen. On my newbuild I have loaded XP and run the upgrade adviser which tells me everything is o/k, just cannot load Vista from the disc!

Going even more hairless than usual, so any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.
