Anyone own one of these?
I've been searching for a good laptop for awhile now, and after stumbling upon this it looks amazing, everywhere i go it's getting good review (both from the site and customers)
i'm interested. do you think it's a good choice?

What are you going to use the notebook for?
I saw a few reviews, some like it, some were less impressed:

honeslty, i'll be doing work on it ( you know, not anything intensive, just what my classes require), the games ill really be playing are like WoW, BF2, Half-life 2 etc... i dont think ill be playing any super intensive games. But for this price it seems good

I moved this to Notebooks forum.
Cnet:
The good: A rare attempt at building a 15-inch gaming laptop comes close to succeeding; bold design; surprisingly strong battery life.
The bad: Frame rates can't compete with bigger gaming laptops; nonconfigurable; as heavy as some 17-inch models.

i really hope to get this though, seems very promising, if you check newwegg.com, the only bad reviews are due to vista sucking

The only issue would be reliability and support.
Asus is known for making good product in other fields, but no way to know if their laptops will prove reliable long term. Notebooks get moved and abused, and things can break...so support becomes the next issue.

Unfortunately video reviews are not as easy to edit for accuracy as text. The information in the written review was much more accurate.
I am looking for several new players to get into the notebook field in the next two years, and some older ones to get merged or go away. The new solid state memory notebooks are supposed to really make waves in this space and new players willing to risk change will push the new technologies. There is already speculation that over half of all notebooks will use the new storage design in less than two years.
Considering how many notebooks are being sold, that is a sea change if true.
