I have a 1Gb Cruzer Micro. Up until today it has been working fine and I've had it for a couple of months. Today when I plug it in it isn't being recognized. When I click on the drive it says please insert drive. I have another one plugged in and it is working fine. What if anything can be done to fix this?

Which Operating System and if a recent version of Windows is it visible in Disk Management but with no file sytem or just with unallocated space. Is it recognised in the System Tray and is it recognised in another PC.

It may need formatting with the HP utility or it may have gone ends up.

I've never seen a flash drive act like this and then work fine later. Chances are it's dead. Using the tips that Paul Komski gave, you may be able to have one last go at the data before you lose it forever. But that Cruzer is definitely in need of replacement, whether you get the data back or not. You do have back-ups, right? ;)
