what kind of certification is required to be a reseller of end-user parts? or better, how do i become an "official" or "registered" reseller?

not to be a "Smarty_Duds"- andrea, but I would contact the company- dell, compaq, HP, or whoever and ask them what they specifically require.
they all most likely have different protocols.

I guess you just need a wholesale account with a supplier, lots of money, and a good business sense.
If you are talking about a business like "CDW", or "Cyberguys.com".
I would say that they know quite a bit about computers, but I do not think there are any required certs.
If you are really curious and serious about this venture, call up one of the online computer parts companies and ask them what their credentials are and what they are required to have by the industry.
Just my opinion.

From my experience, all you need is guts and some money....BE AWARE - The margins in PC parts business are horrible right now. It is an extremely competitive business and you can get Killed in a hurry if you get "stuck" with inventory that becomes obsolete on you [it can happen in weeks, not months in that business].
