i am not able to remove vcmgcd32.dll even after many attempts.i have seen on google that it is a type of virus.i have tried to remove it through killbox(delete on reboot),deleted it in safe mode, but every time it comes back again. i have also disabled system restore before deleting it.
whenever i try to run a antivirus it either keeps on saying that "vcmgcd32.dll is a virus and needs to be removed" even after numerous times quarantining it and deleting it thru av it still keeps on saying "vcmgcd32.dll is a virus......"
what shall i do now pls help

Have a look Here (http://www.ca.com/us/securityadvisor/virusinfo/virus.aspx?id=52797) to see the effects of this trojan. It infects windows files, so removing the file itself will not clean it up. Try the online scan on that page, and see if that will eradicate it.

How are you deleting the file?

amit309
06-08-2007, 10:03 AM
i have tried to scan the whole folder with many anti viruses(eg-norton,mcafee,avg,avast) but they just remove it for that moment only on next boot the file comes back.it surely is having some source or backdoor in the pc which brings it back time and time again.

i have tried to delete it with killbox, anti virus programs, hijack this, and even deleted it in safe mode

well i think i have to resort to the last alternative of fomatting the c drive where it is present :(

Based on what you had, that may have been the best course of action.
