Had blackout while burning a dvd, now the burner don't work right.

I was burning a dvd and the power went out. It was about three quarters thru the burn. Now the burner has a "write error" at that same point every time, whether i'm burning cds or dvds. I've tried various burn programs, did the whole driver/firmware update, and a reformat of the OS and no help. Is there a reset or something on the burner itself?

It's a Pioneer DVR-RW DVR 104.

It may have corrupted the optical drive firmware.
I recommend Uninterruptible Power Supplies for many reasons, this is yet another case where a UPS would prevent device failures.
