after being on for a few days, Win 2000 crashed, gave me a BSOD.

Win 2000 DOESNT crash normally unless under dire situations. But this BSOD was a commoner among NT based OS's on my system.

The PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA BSOD happened.

Its normal. So im thinkin i just have a crappy piece of ram. I have a Kingston piece(good) and a GoldenRam piece, from who knows (the proposed bad).

Is this logical, and if so correct?

ill just buy a new ram stick if need be.

Try reseating the RAM first. If it happened once, don't freak out about it.

Your Windows 2000-based computer may stop unexpectedly and you receive a STOP: 0x00000050 [PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA] error message (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/843528/en-us)

I'm running Win2000Pro.

See below the versions of the ntfs.sys files on my system.

The version included in the service pack files is 5.0.2195.6710.
The versions in use in "drivers" & "dllcache" are 5.0.2195.7049.

In my case, it was RAM. Download and run memtest386. Let it run for a good while. You can get it from majorgeeks.com, among other places. It's also a part of many Linux LiveCD distro's like Knoppix.
